EVENT: Richard Bosman Charcuterie Demonstration and Talk
Friday 18 July 2014
Join us for an exciting lunch time presentation at Richard Bosman’s charcuterie production facility in Killarney Gardens.
Founded in August 2009, Richard Bosman’s Quality Cured Meats is a small factory committed to producing excellent cured meats using traditional methods. After 5 successful years running the Deli in Hermanus, owner Richard Bosman decided to set up a factory to produce Italian and Spanish style cured meats. With input from fleischmeister Walter Haller, the factory uses traditional salting and drying techniques to create something special and unique. The two most important ingredients in the process are the pork and time. Read more at http://richardbosman.me
Richard has kindly agreed to open up his world to us on Friday 18 July. He has told us what you’ll be treated to if you can join us:
1. A tour of the factory
2. A demonstration of breaking down a pig carcass
3. A discussion of the pork they use and processing methods
4. A tasting of products made from each part of the pig
The cost of the event is R120 per person (members price) and R140 per person (non-members price). Included in this are charcuterie tasters/snacks made by Richard, as well as some wine.
We realize that not everyone can make a lunchtime week day event, but that is the only time that Richard is available for this kind of interaction. Apologies to those of you who will have to miss out.
Space is limited at the factory, so make sure you book early.
